  • American Legion Bridge: “The worse chokepoint in the entire national highway system,” according to the US Dept of Transportation
  • Attempts to eliminate zoning for single residential housing
  • Worse sewage pipe spill in US history at Cabin John
  • Traffic congestion made worse by bike lanes – Old Georgetown Road, Little Falls Parkway
  • Tax increases without addressing what is driving increased costs.

How did this happen?

Failed policies and poor oversight!

Bethesda is the economic engine of the county yet LD16 state legislators consistently vote to burden residents and businesses with higher taxes, fees and more regulations.  LD16 legislators fail to represent their constituents in the Maryland General Assembly.

To fix much that is broken in Montgomery County requires State legislators to take action in the General Assembly:
  • To expand I-270, I-495 and the American Legion Bridge
  • To eliminate the County’s wholesale liquor monopoly
  • To reform WSSC, a 100 year bicounty agency, its rate structure and maintenance of water/sewage pipes
  • To reform Maryland Park and Planning, a bicounty agency
  • To establish an Inspector General solely dedicated to MCPS
  • To elect School Board district members only by voters in their district

Ann Hingston is an experienced government administrator who knows what is required to bring about reform – commonsense, scrutiny and diligence. She will stand up for residents and businesses and propose solutions in the General Assembly.
